Charges Filed Against Police Officer Responsible for the Death of Samuel Dajon Sterling
Author: Kapryce Brown Michigan Attorney General, Dana Nessel, released a video statement addressing the review of events leading to the death of Samuel Dajon Sterling. April 17th, 2024, Detective Sergeant Brian Keely of the MSP operating on the Fugitive Task force in pursuit of Mr. Sterling, was found to be “legally, grossly negligent” says Nessel. In body, dash and neighboring business cameras, Keely is seen pulling into a Kentwood Burger King in an unmarked cruiser, turning towards Samuel Sterling, hitting and pinning him against the building. Upon backing up, Sterling falls to the ground as he is released from the vehicle's hold.
